About Annabel Murphy Art
I started Annabel Murphy Art to sell affordable vintage art for people’s homes. I have always loved to collect but, like many of us, I don’t have a huge budget. I aim to source beautiful good quality oil paintings at affordable prices.
In my twenties, I was fortunate enough to spend time in Italy studying Renaissance art, prior to gaining a degree at Sotheybys Insitute of Art in the History of Fine and Decorative Art and a MPhil masters degree in Contemporary Art at Christies Education.. I have worked for both The Saatchi Gallery and The Tate, and I believe this extensive experience and education helps in providing affordable and beautiful art for sale. Most of all, though, I don't sell anything that I don't love and wouldn’t have in my own home.
I I source original paintings from auctions, fairs and markets in Britain and France, with a particular eye for 20th-century landscapes, seascapes and still lifes.
I believe it’s very important that the artworks are sold in frames that suit the piece. Many of the works I sell have been reframed in bespoke hand-painted frames, so they are ready to be hung in your home straight away. If the work is being sold in its original frame, I will endeavour to make sure the frame is in reasonable condition, but the buyer should be aware that the frame may need some attention.
Two collections are released each year — Spring and Autumn — with carefully selected paintings, ready to hang.
Good paintings, good frames, at accessible prices.
